Public Training Session and Signing of Autographs to Promote MACS 2021 Boxing Night on December 4 at the León Palenque
León, GTO, December 2, 2021. The card for the MACS 2021 Boxing Night on Saturday, December 4 at the Feria de León Palenque was announced today at a press conference by COMUDE Director-General Isaac Piña; Mexico Active and Sport Expo (MACS) Director Thorsten Hofmann; Zanfer Boxing Operating Manager Guillermo Brito Rodríguez; and the world championship contenders Montserrat Alarcón Raya, Silvia “Guerrerita” Torres, María Guadalupe Atilano, Sergio Chirino Sánchez, Alie Laurel, Diego Padilla, Yair “Esqueletor” Marmolejo and Misael “El Violento” Estrada.
“To ratify the international prestige of Mexican boxing on our home turf, Hannover Fairs México, the Government of Guanajuato, the León Conventions and Visitors´ Office, Zanfer Boxing and Box Azteca have decided to launch a world-class Boxing Night here at the Feria de León Paleqnue in Guanajuato on Saturday, December 4,” said Hofmann.
“Our star fight,” he said, “will feature Montserrat “Raya” Alarcón and Silvia “Guerrerita” Torres, who will be battling it out for the World Boxing Association´s Flyweight Championship title. The second highlight of the night will pit Mexico against the Philippines when Sergio Chirino Jr. takes on Alie Laurel in what promises to be a classic of world boxing. Finally, we will have a line-up of renowned local boxers like Yair “Esqueletor” Marmolejo, Lupita Atilano, Aldo “La Zorrita” Cedeño, Diego Padilla, Misael “El Violento” Estrada and Oscar “Espinas” Flores.
“I would like to congratulate Mexico Active and Sport Expo on this initiative, which confirms that León is a launch platform for national and international sporting events, as this Boxing Night so clearly illustrates. We wish our local boxers every success,” added Piña.
“Zanfer was able to launch an innovative, high-quality international event thanks to all the state and municipal authorities that lent us their support and the collaboration of MACS, which had the vision to put together this exciting boxing card with us. We hope this Boxing Night will inspire local talents to continue with their boxing careers,” concluded Brito.
To promote MACS 2021 Boxing Night, a public training session was held at the Explanada Guanajuato of Distrito León MX, after which Montserrat “Raya” Alarcón, Silvia “Guerrerita” Torres, Sergio Chirino Sánchez, Alie Laurel, Diego Padilla, Yair “Esqueletor” Marmolejo and Misael “El Violento” Estrada were available to sign autographs.
The official weighing ceremony, which will be open to the general public, will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, December 3 at the same venue.
